REDUCTIONS OF FEES BY KADUNA GOVERNOR: A PEOPLE-CENTRIC DECISIONS WORTHY OF COMMENDATIONS

Governor Uba Sani's Fee Reduction Initiative in Kaduna State Applauded - Haruna Abubakar Bebeji
In a remarkable move towards ensuring inclusive and affordable education, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced a significant reduction in tuition fees across all state-owned tertiary institutions. This people-centric decision is a commendable effort towards fulfilling his campaign promises and enhancing educational access for the residents of Kaduna.

Under the new fee structure, the Kaduna State University will witness a 30% reduction in fees, while the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, College of Education Gidan Waya, Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences & Technology, and Kaduna State College of Nursing will see a commendable 50% reduction. This reduction is an important step in addressing the challenges faced by students and families in funding their education.

Governor Uba Sani made this announcement during a media parley with pressmen at the Government House in Kaduna, emphasizing his commitment to running an administration that leaves no one or any part of Kaduna State behind. His decision was prompted by the public outcry over the current high fees and the impact it had on enrollment and retention rates in these institutions.
It is highly commendable that Governor Uba Sani's administration recognizes the importance of accessible and affordable education in building a better future for the youth of Kaduna State. By reducing fees, this government is not only alleviating the financial burden on students and their families, but also ensuring that education remains a priority in their lives.

Furthermore, the fee reduction initiative aligns with the Kaduna State Government's commitment to offering palliatives to cushion the effects of rising living costs, especially in the aftermath of the recent petroleum subsidy removal in Nigeria. This demonstrates Governor Uba Sani's dedication towards addressing the needs of the people and making education accessible to all.

As we commend Governor Uba Sani for this people-oriented policy, we also congratulate the residents of Kaduna State for having a sympathetic and responsive governor. This visionary initiative deserves praise, as it ensures that no student will be left behind due to financial constraints. It is undoubtedly a significant step towards increasing the number of educated individuals in the state and, consequently, contributing to its development.
In light of Governor Uba Sani's groundbreaking decision, it is imperative that other governors across Nigeria emulate his approach and prioritize the accessibility, affordability, and quality of education in their respective states. By doing so, they would be fostering an environment where every child has the opportunity to pursue their dreams and contribute to the nation's progress.

The exemplary leadership of Governor Uba Sani serves as an inspiration for other leaders to prioritize the welfare of their citizens and make education a topmost priority. The vision of an educated and empowered society starts with accessible education, and Governor Sani's fee reduction initiative has brought that vision one step closer to reality.
In conclusion, we applaud Governor Uba Sani for championing this remarkable policy that will enable countless aspiring students in Kaduna State to fulfill their academic ambitions. We call on other governors to follow his example and prioritize the welfare of their people by implementing similar measures. The future of our nation depends on the education of its citizens, and accessible education is the first step towards a brighter future for all.
