ALHAJI BASHIR DALHATU, WAZIRIN DUTSE AS ACF BOT CHAIRMAN: APPOINTMENT WELL DESERVED

Congratulations to Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu (Wazirin Dutse) on His Appointment as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) - Haruna Abubakar Bebeji 

The recent appointment of Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has been met with great joy and satisfaction. This decision, which was made at the general meeting held on July 25th, 2023, at the ACF headquarters in Kaduna, reflects the trust and confidence that the members have in him. 

As a prominent political and cultural association of leaders in Northern Nigeria, the ACF plays a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of the region. Having an experienced elder statesman like Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu as the chairman of the Board of Trustees is indeed a commendable move. 

Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, who holds the traditional title of Wazirin Dutse of Dutse Emirate of Jigawa State, who was also the former Chairman of Body of Benchers; the legal body of practitioners of the highest distinction in the legal profession, which is responsible for the formal call to the Bar of persons seeking to become legal practitioners as well as disciplining of erring lawyers, boasts an impressive track record of public service and leadership. His educational background in law which earned him the honour of being a Life Bencher of the Nigerian Body of Benchers, combined with his extensive experience in various government ministries and as a minister in the past, makes him well-suited for this position. 

His previous roles in the Interim National Government and the government of General Sani Abacha and also the government of General Abdulsalami Abubakar demonstrate his ability to navigate complex political terrain and provide effective leadership. Furthermore, his appointment as the Waziri of the Dutse Emirate and his honorary consulship to Tunisia are further testament to his wisdom and diplomatic skills. 

A former Chairman of the Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor of Moddibo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola, Wazirin Dutse, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu also previously held the position of Chairman of Committees of Pro-Chancellors of Nigeria.

Wazirin Dutse who previously held the position of the Chairman of New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC); a conglomerate owned by the 19 Northern States of Nigeria, that has interests in Agriculture, Textile, Solid Minerals and others signifies the experience he garnered over the years and one who knows the problems and possible applicable solutions suitable for Northern Nigeria. 

Having such an experienced elder statesman at the helm of the ACF's Board of Trustees brings tremendous opportunities for the organization and the region it represents. Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu's wealth of experience will undoubtedly be instrumental in promoting the ACF's objectives and advancing its agenda. 

One of the most pressing challenges facing Northern Nigeria is the need for socio-economic development and political stability. Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu's appointment provides a unique opportunity for him to use his wealth of experience and connections to address these issues. As the chairman of the ACF's Board of Trustees, he can provide fatherly guidance and solutions to the problems faced by the region.

His deep understanding of the political landscape, coupled with his diplomatic skills, can be harnessed to foster unity and cooperation among the diverse groups within Northern Nigeria.
