We recently had the privilege to sit down with ENGR. BASHIR ISHAQ BASHIR, the Director General of GAME CHANGERS FOR ASIWAJU/SHETTIMA 2023 and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, to discuss President Tinubu's vision for Nigeria and the steps his administration is taking to bring about positive change.
When asked about the challenges facing Nigeria, Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir acknowledged that the nation is dealing with various issues, including a sluggish economy, corruption, insecurity, limited access to quality healthcare, education, and clean water supply amongst others. However, he expressed optimism about President Tinubu's clear agenda and innovative policies that aim to bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots and promote economic growth and development.
Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir stated that one of the key priorities of the Tinubu administration is to invest in various sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and technology to create jobs and generate wealth for Nigerians, particularly the youth. The Director General emphasized that Nigeria's large population and abundant natural resources present a great opportunity for economic progress, and the Tinubu administration recognizes this.
In terms of insecurity, Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir acknowledged that Nigeria has been plagued by various forms of insecurity, including Boko Haram insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes. However, he expressed hope that the government's new strategies, which involve collaboration with neighboring countries, strengthening security agencies, and creating job opportunities for young people, will address these security challenges.
Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir also highlighted education and healthcare as significant components of the government's agenda. He acknowledged that Nigeria has a high out-of-school children's population and inadequate healthcare infrastructure and facilities but expressed confidence that the Tinubu administration's plans to increase the budget in these sectors and provide access to quality education and healthcare for all Nigerians will make a significant impact.
In conclusion, Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir emphasized President Tinubu's vision for Nigeria as a step in the right direction that provides hope for a better future. He called on all Nigerians to come together, support the government, and contribute their best towards the progress of the country. The Director General applauded President Tinubu for demonstrating leadership and vision, and he encouraged Nigerians to trust and believe that Nigeria's best days are ahead.
